The Center for Watershed Science conducts several watershed monitoring projects throughout the State of Illinois. In general, each project
collects streamflow data computed from ISWS streamgages and nutrient and sediment samples. These data will be updated on a quarterly basis
and is subject to the following disclaimers.
CREP Data The Illinois State Water Survey (ISWS) operates a monitoring program for the Illinois River Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP), which is administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR).
This monitoring program collects hydrologic, sediment and nutrient data for selected watersheds within the Illinois River watershed to assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the program.
Pilot Data The Illinois State Water Survey (ISWS) operates a monitoring program for the Interagency Pilot Watershed program, which is administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR).
This monitoring program collects hydrologic, sediment and nutrient data for selected watersheds in the State of Illinois to assist in the evaluation of land management programs on stream quantity and quality.
C2000 Ecosystem Partnership - Hurricane Creek The ISWS-Center for Watershed Science has been funded by the IDNR C2000 Ecosystem Partnership to monitor streamflow, sediment and nitrate in Hurricane Creek of the Embarras River for two years. Hurricane Creek has also been designated as a
Pilot Watershed Program watershed, where Kickapoo Creek, located south of Mattoon and Charleston, has been designated a reference watershed. Monitoring in these creeks will continue for three more years with funding from the IDNR-Pilot Watershed Program.
