Data Disclaimer

Quality assurance of meteorological sensors is a high priority of Illinois Climate Network (ICN) staff. Transference of data to other locations involves some level of risk, which increases as the distance from the observation site increases and with the spatial variability of the particular parameter of interest, in accordance with the scale of the weather event being measured. The data user assumes all responsibility for this risk. Nevertheless, all recorded data gathered from instrumentation operating by ICN standards are considered as providing factual information on the weather occurring at a particular instance and location. These data will not give precise information on what occurred at a desired location away from an ICN site, but they do represent a sample of what occurred locally during a particular time period or weather event.
