Most of Illinois is blessed with an abundant supply of ground and surface water to meet
the needs of its citizens. Increasing demand from a growing population and economy,
however, suggests that a reexamination of our State’s water supplies and current and future
water demands is necessary. This Conference will focus on water supply and demand
issues facing Illinois in the upcoming decades. The major themes for the Conference are:
projections for water supply and demand, water quality issues, legal and management
issues, and socioeconomic concerns. Invited speakers at the Conference include state and
national experts in the field of water resources planning. The Conference will be held in
Chicago, Illinois at the Holiday Inn City Centre, just a block from Michigan Avenue’s
"magnificent mile".
