The Illinois State Water Survey (ISWS) maintains a collection of floodplain hydraulic models, as part of its Floodplain Information public service program. An inventory list of the models in the ISWS collection is posted on this website, which provides an easy way for technical professionals to assess whether the ISWS has a particular hydraulic model.

The primary source of the model data at the ISWS is the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). However, the model list presented here is not a list of current Flood Insurance Study (FIS) models, nor is it a complete list of all FIS models.  Some of the models in the collection are not the final models, are superseded in whole or in part by other models, or are models never submitted to FEMA.

You may browse the collection inventory by watershed name or county via the links below. A copy of a model may be requested for a charge. (Most of the models are available in print copy only.)
