Interlibrary Loan Policy

Who May Request Materials

• Anyone may request the use of any Illinois State Water Survey Library materials, but only through the Interlibrary Loan department at their local library .
• Libraries wishing to make Interlibrary Loan requests may do so via WorldCat Resource Sharing; e-mail to library@sws.uiuc.edu; or fax to (217) 333-6540. Journal articles over 20 pages in length must be requested through University of Illinois Interlibrary Loan.

Loan Policy

• Only reports, documents, and books are loaned.
  • There is no charge.
  • The loan period is one month.
  • Materials must be returned in the same condition that they were loaned.
• Journals are not loaned. There is no charge for photocopies of journal articles up to 20 pages. Articles over 20 pages must be requested by a library through University of Illinois interlibrary loan.

Material Delivery Methods (to libraries only)

• Shipments to libraries within the U.S. are made without charge.
  • Shipment to out of state libraries will be sent by mail or fax.
  • Shipment to in-state libraries can be sent by mail, fax, or through Intersystems Library Delivery Service (ILDS).
• Requests for shipments outside the U.S. must be made through University of Illinois interlibrary loan.
